Major changes to the scheme in 2001

  • The Awards began in 2000 under the name of the RMIT Distinguished Teaching Awards (DTA for short). From 2001 onwards they will be known as the RMIT University Teaching Awards.
  • The time available for the faculty processes of nomination, selection and supporting nominees to prepare University level documentation has been greatly increased and the whole scheme is spread out over a longer period of the year.
  • A Scholarship of Teaching Award has been added in response to feedback from stakeholders and a Research Supervision Award has been developed by the Research Graduate Studies Committee.
  • Greater faculty level support for nominees and acknowledgments of achievements at a local level (Department/School and Faculty) is planned.
